Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Thursday, April 18, 2013. The forecast calls for sunny skies with a high of around 78 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mrs. McWilliam's class to lead us with the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Mr. Truett's class for the pledge.

Today is...

Officially High Five Day!

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1775, Boston Patriots Paul Revere and William Dawes set out on horseback from the city to warn Adams and Hancock and rouse the Patriot minutemen. This is the day the phrase, "The British are coming, the British are coming!" became famous.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

Aluminium is the most common metal in the Earth's crust.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Citizenship, our sixth Pillar of Character, represented by the color purple. Think regal purple as representing the state.
One is an effective citizen by doing things that:
  • Remind us of our heritage
  • Involve us in the democratic process
  • Support individuals with a special responsibility for keeping the country strong
  • Help us better understand the workings of our government
  • Promote a sense of community
  • Keep individuals and families strong
According to Adlai E. Stevenson, Jr - American statesman and diplomat, “ Patriotism is not short, frenzied outbursts of emotion, but the tranquil and steady dedication of a lifetime.”

Fourth Grade will be performing  their MY STORY-Gold Rush Play this Saturday at the Escondido Center for the Arts at 1:00pm
You are welcome to come and cheer them them on.
In support of all their hard work, we proclaiming tomorrow to be RSU Pioneer Day! Wear your cowboy boots and/or hat tomorrow if you have them.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
