Today is day 19 of school on this Monday, September 15, 2014. The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies today with a high of about 96 degrees.
This morning I have a group of college bound Road-Runners from Mrs. Roberts/Martinez's class to lead us in the pledge.
Next week we will be joined by Mrs. Sylliaasen's class.
Felt Hat Day
On this Day in History:
On this day in 1858, the new Overland Mail Company sends out its first two stages, inaugurating government mail service between the eastern and western regions of the nation.
Here’s a random Science Facts for today:
Whales were once land mammals that moved to the sea and adapted to marine life.
Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:
The Pillar of the Week is Responsibility, our third Pillar of Character, represented by the color green. When you think about responsibility, think about being responsible for a green garden.
According to John D. Rockefeller, Jr., entrepreneur, “Every right implies a responsibility, every opportunity an obligation, every possession a duty.”
MAP testing returns today. Please remember to be quiet and respectful around the computer lab for testing. Also, please do not walk through the lab during testing.
Testing today will be Mr. Horstman and Mr. Plunkett.
We will be on rainy day schedule due to the extreme heat. Teachers, please refrain from doing PE tomorrow and keep your students inside for recess. Indoor board games, videos from the Wiki, etc. are great alternatives. Please remind students to drink plenty of water and we will hold lunch in the MPR.
If you have any issues tomorrow, please call the office immediately.
This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
