Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is day 42 of school on this Monday, October 20, 2014. The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies today with a high of about 82 degrees.

This morning I have a group of college bound Road-Runners from Ms. J. Isherwood's class to lead us in the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Mrs. Andrew's class.

Happy Birthday!
Mr. Hernandez

Today is...
Information Overload Day

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1774, the First Continental Congress creates the Continental Association, which calls for a complete ban on all trade between America and Great Britain of all goods, wares or merchandise.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:
The shark has to keep moving to stay alive.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

This week is Character Counts! Week nation-wide.

Show respect and responsibility for our school by setting aside time to beautify our campus and facilities, pick up trash, pledge not to vandalize property, or plant trees and flowers.

According to Aldo Leopold, American ecologist, forester, and environmentalist, "We abuse land because we regard it as a commodity belonging to us. When we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect."

The first of our PD on Teacher iPads will be held this week, today, tomorrow and Wednesday in room 56 (not the computer lab). You only need to attend one of these meeting. We will be discussing Apple ID and their management. This is an important first step in using an iPad in your classroom.

Safety First!
  • Please remember to walk when traveling through campus.
  • Also remember to use quiet voices in all academic areas.
  • Remember to play safe on the playground and when the bell rings to line up, walk to your line safely. We do not want anyone running as you could get hurt.
  • When you arrive at school in the morning, remember to sit at the lunch tables. All students are to remain sitting at the lunch tables until the duty teacher says that you may get up.
  • At the end of the day, your teacher will walk you to your designated exit for parent pick-up. If your ride is not there, you need to wait, stay at the front of the school and wait patiently and quietly for your ride.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
