Today is...
Free Thought Day

On this Day in History:
On this day in in 1492, After sailing across the Atlantic Ocean, Italian explorer Christopher Columbus sights a Bahamian island, believing he has reached East Asia. His expedition went ashore the same day and claimed the land for Isabella and Ferdinand of Spain, who sponsored his attempt to find a western ocean route to China, India, and the fabled gold and spice islands of Asia.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:
Your teeth are harder than your bones.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:
It's Pillars of Character Week at RSU!

Are you a TRRFCC (terrific) student? If you are then you are demonstrating the Six Pillars of Character.
Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship.

This week, make a formal promise-keeping arrangement: a contract. Pick one of the Pillars and decide which one you want to be better at representing. Make a contract with yourself to strengthen that Pillar of Character and thus, strengthen yourself. On the contract, make a list of the actions you could do to reach this goal.

According to Helen Keller, American social activist, public speaker and author, "Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, vision cleared, ambition inspired, and success achieved."

The fair will be open Today - Friday. Passes and money to spend are required. Classes will continue to come for regular scheduled times to preview and buy. Thursday and Friday classes, See Mrs. Stump for a viewing time.

  • Play safe on the playground and when the bell rings to line up, walk to your line safely. We do not want anyone running as you could get hurt.
  • When you arrive at school in the morning, you are to to sit at the lunch tables. All students are to remain sitting at the lunch tables until the duty teacher says that you may get up.
  • At the end of the day, your teacher will walk you to your designated exit for parent pick-up. If your ride is not there, you need to wait, stay at the front of the school and wait patiently and quietly for your ride.
