Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Monday, May 20, 2013. The forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with a high of around 78 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mrs. Werner's class to lead us with the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Mrs. Goulart's class for the pledge.

Today is...

Officially Eliza Doolittle Day.

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1749, King George II of England grants the Ohio Company a charter of several hundred thousand acres of land around the forks of the Ohio River, thereby promoting westward settlement by American colonists from Virginia.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

Small icebergs are called growlers and bergy bits.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Caring, our fifth Pillar of Character, represented by the color red. When you think about caring, think of a red heart.

• Be kind
• Be compassionate and show you care
• Express gratitude
• Forgive others
• Help people in need

According to a French proverb, "Write injuries in dust but kindnesses in marble."

A Reminder for teachers; Pinks and Blues at this Thursday's staff meeting.

Get your jogging shoes ready! The Jog-A-Thon is almost here. On Thursday morning, we will all head out to the track for the annual Jog-A-Thon.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
