Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Monday, January 14, 2013. The forecast calls for a mostly sunny skies with a high of around 50 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mr. Hernandez and Mr. Plunkett's class to lead us with the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Mrs. Reynoso's class for the pledge.

January 14th is officially, "National Dress Up Your Pet Day".

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1639, the first constitution in the American colonies, the "Fundamental Orders," is adopted by representatives of Wethersfield, Windsor, and Hartford.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

The biggest egg in the world is the ostrich egg. It could take as many as 30 chicken eggs to equal its volume, and up to 2 hours to hard boil.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Trustworthiness, the first Pillar of Character, represented by the color blue:
Be honest • Don’t deceive, cheat, or steal • Be reliable — do what you say you’ll do • Have the courage to do the right thing • Build a good reputation • Be loyal — stand by your family, friends, and country
When you think of Trustworthiness, think of being "True Blue".
According to Josh Billings (Henry Wheeler Shaw), American humorist, "As scarce as truth is, the supply has always been in excess of the demand."

Today is the first day of MAP testing. Be sure to do your best and show a lot of growth!

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
