Today is Monday, January 13, 2014. The forecast calls for sunny skies with a high of about 79 degrees.
This morning I have a group of college bound Roadrunners from Mrs. Mallinger's class.
Next week, Roberts/Martinez class will be leading us in the pledge.
Rubber Ducky Day
On this Day in History:
On this day in 1929, nearly 50 years after the famous gunfight at the O.K. Corral, Wyatt Earp dies quietly in Los Angeles at the age of 80.
Here’s a random Science Facts for today:
Sperm whales have the heaviest brains on the planet.
Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:
The Pillar of the Week is Respect, our second Pillar of Character, represented by the color yellow or gold. When you think about respect, think "The Golden Rule".
• Treat others with respect; follow the Golden Rule
• Be tolerant and accepting of differences
• Use good manners, not bad language
• Be considerate of the feelings of others
• Don’t threaten, hit or hurt anyone
• Deal peacefully with anger, insults, and disagreements
According to Helen Keller, American social activist, public speaker and author, "Instead of comparing our lot with that of those who are more fortunate than we are, we should compare it with the lot of the great majority of our fellow men. It then appears that we are among the privileged."
The Talent Show is coming to Rock Springs! Auditions will be on Tuesday, January 21st, not the 20th as originally announced. If you would like to participate, you must fill out an application, have your parents sign it, and turn it in to Mrs. Zacharias or Miss Reynoso by Thursday, January 16th. That's next week! And don't forget to practice, practice, practice.
This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
