On this day in 1807, American poet, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, was born. Mr. Longfellow was the most widely published poet of the 1800’s. Some of his best known works were, The Song of Hiawatha, and The Courtship of Miles Standish. His works achieved great popularity in Europe as well as in the United States.
