Good morning Rock Springs School!

Welcome back to Rock Springs U for the 2012-2013 school year! Today is Monday, August 20, 2012. Today should be partly cloudy in the morning...becoming mostly sunny. Highs today will be from 86 to 91.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mrs. Mallinger's 4th/5th grade to lead us with the pledge.
They are ...

On this Day in History:

In 1911, a dispatcher in the New York Times office sends the first telegram around the world via commercial service. Exactly 66 years later, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) sends a different kind of message--a phonograph record containing information about Earth for extraterrestrial beings--shooting into space aboard the unmanned spacecraft Voyager II.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

Men have more blood in their circulatory system than women and more red blood cells.

Rock Springs School is a Character Counts School:

This year, you will be learning about the The Six Pillars of Character. The pillars are; Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship. These are easy to remember because people with good character are terrific. Just use the acronym T R R F C C for terrific. T for Trustworthiness, R for Respect, R for Responsibility, C for Caring, and C for Citizenship. All Rock Springs students and staff are Terrific!

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
