Today is Monday, August 19, 2013. The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with a high of around 84 degrees.
This morning I have a group of college bound Roadrunners from Safety Patrol.
Root Beer Float Day!
On this day in 1946, William Jefferson Blythe III is born in Hope, Arkansas. His father died in a car accident before he was born, and young Bill later took the last name of his stepfather, Roger Clinton. In 1992, Bill Clinton would be elected as the 42nd president of the United States.
Men have more blood in their circulatory system than women and more red blood cells.
This year, you will be learning about the The Six Pillars of Character. The pillars are; Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship. These are easy to remember because people with good character are terrific. Just use the acronym T R R F C C for terrific. T for Trustworthiness, R for Respect, R for Responsibility, C for Caring, and C for Citizenship. All Rock Springs students and staff are Terrific!
According to Henry Clay, statesman, orator, politician,”Of all the properties which belong to honorable men, not one is so highly prized as that of character."
A couple of reminders for all of our Roadrunners about campus safety as we start back this year. Please remember to walk when traveling through campus. That means, walk and don't run. Also remember to use quiet voices in all academic areas.
Your teachers will be discussing playground safety with you before you go to recess and lunch. We want everyone to be sure and remember to play safe and when the bell rings to line up, walk to your line safely. We do not want anyone running as you could get hurt.
When you arrive at school in the morning, remember to sit at the lunch tables. All students are to remain sitting at the lunch tables until the duty teacher says that you may get up.
And lastly, at the end of the day, your teacher will walk you to your designated exit for parent pick-up. If your ride is not there, you need to wait, stay at the front of the school and wait patiently and quietly for you ride.
This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
