Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Monday, April 22, 2013. The forecast calls for sunny skies with a high of around 71 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mr. Truett's class to lead us with the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Mr. Horstman's class for the pledge.

Today is...

Officially Earth Day!  Earth Day is an event to increase public awareness of the world's environmental problems. It was celebrated in the United States for the first time in 1970.

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1889, The Oklahoma land rush begins. At precisely high noon, thousands of would-be settlers make a mad dash into the newly opened Oklahoma Territory to claim cheap land.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

Blondes have more hair on their heads than Brunettes.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Trustworthiness, our first Pillar of Character, represented by the color blue. Think "true blue".
  • Be honest
  • Don’t deceive, cheat, or steal
  • Be reliable — do what you say you’ll do
  • Have the courage to do the right thing
  • Build a good reputation
  • Be loyal — stand by your family, friends, and country
According to Josh Billings (Henry Wheeler Shaw), American humorist  “ As scarce as truth is, the supply has always been in excess of the demand.”

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
