Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Wednesday, January 16, 2013. The forecast calls for sunny skies with a high of around 66 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mr. Hernandez and Mr. Plunkett's class to lead us with the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Mrs. Reynoso's class for the pledge.

January 16th is officially, "National Nothing Day".

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1919, The 18th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, prohibiting the "manufacture, sale, or transportation of intoxicating liquors for beverage purposes," is ratified on this day in 1919 and becomes the law of the land.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

When glass breaks, the cracks move at speeds of more than 3,000mph.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Trustworthiness, the first Pillar of Character, represented by the color blue:
Good people are people you can trust. They are honest; they tell the truth. They are brave enough to do good things, even when people want them to do bad things.
When you think of Trustworthiness, think of being "True Blue".
According to a Jewish proverb, "What you don't see with your eyes, don't witness with your mouth."

Today is day 3 of MAP testing. We're off to a great start. Be sure to do your best and show a lot of growth!

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
