Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is day 66 of school on this Friday, November 20, 2015. The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies, with high of about 85 degrees.

Pledge:

This morning we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mr. Plunkett's class to lead us with the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Mr. Hernandez's class for the pledge.

Announcements:

Today is...
National Peanut Butter Fudge Day

On this Day in History:
On this day in 1789, New Jersey ratifies the Bill of Rights, becoming the first state to do so. New Jersey's action was a first step toward making the first 10 amendments to the Constitution law and completing the revolutionary reforms begun by the Declaration of Independence.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:
Roadrunners are mostly a bird of the American southwest, it lives in deserts, grasslands, and woodlands from Missouri to Mexico.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:
The Pillar of the Week is Fairness, our fourth Pillar of Character, represented by the color orange. When you think about fairness, think of dividing an orange into equal sections to share fairly with friends.
  • Play by the rules
  • Take turns and share
  • Be open-minded; listen to others
  • Don't take advantage of others
  • Don't blame others carelessly
  • Treat all people fairly
According to an Egyptian proverb, "An onion shared with a friend tastes like roast lamb."

Safety First!
  • Kadama's are not allowed at school.
  • Please remember to walk when traveling through campus.
  • Also, remember to use quiet voices in all academic areas.
  • Play safe on the playground and when the bell rings to line up, walk to your line safely. We do not want anyone running as you could get hurt.
  • When you arrive at school in the morning, you are to to sit at the lunch tables. All students are to remain sitting at the lunch tables until the duty teacher says that you may get up.
  • At the end of the day, your teacher will walk you to your designated exit for parent pick-up. If your ride is not there, you need to wait, stay at the front of the school and wait patiently and quietly for your ride.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!"
