Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Friday, May 31, 2013. The forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with a high of around 78 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mrs. Goulart's class to lead us with the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Mrs. Glaze's class for the pledge.

Today is...

Officially What You Think Upon Grows Day.

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1889, The South Fork Dam collapses on this day in 1889, causing a flood in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. The historical fiction book, "The Terrible Wave", by Marden Dahlstedt recounts this event.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

Parrots talk without vocal cords.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Citizenship, our sixth Pillar of Character, represented by the color purple. When you think about citizenship, think regal purple as representing the state.

• Do your share to make your school and community better
• Cooperate
• Get involved in community affairs
• Stay informed; vote
• Be a good neighbor
• Obey laws and rules
• Respect authority
• Protect the environment
• Volunteer

According to an African proverb, "In a community, it's better for every person to have a little of something than for one person to have everything."

Don't forget that tonight is RSU Night at Chuck E. Cheese's.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
