Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Friday, May 10, 2013. The forecast calls for mostly partly cloudy skies with a high of around 70 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mrs. Mallinger's class to lead us with the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Ms. S. Isherwood's class for the pledge.

Today is...

Officially Windmill Day!

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1869, the presidents of the Union Pacific and Central Pacific railroads meet in Promontory, Utah, and drive a ceremonial last spike into a rail line that connects their railroads. This made transcontinental railroad travel possible for the first time in U.S. history.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

The smallest bone in the human body is shorter than a grain of rice.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Responsibility, our third Pillar of Character, represented by the color green. When you think about responsibility, think about being responsible for a green garden.
Responsible people are active in the pursuit of excellence.
They are diligent and they persevere avoiding excuses.
Responsible people exercise self-control.
They realize they are as they choose to be, every day.
According to Hamilton Wright Mabee, American essayist, "The question for each man to settle is not what he would do if he had the means, time, influence and educational advantages, but what he will do with the things he has."

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
