Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Friday, March 8, 2013. The forecast calls for cloudy skies with rain and high of around 50 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Ms. Roberts / Ms. Martinez's class to lead us with the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Mrs. Riley's class for the pledge.

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1944, Phyllis Mae Daley, the first African-American nurse to serve in World War II, received her U.S. Navy commission.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

Rain drops can fall at speeds of about 22 miles an hour.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Respect, our second Pillar of Character, represented by the colors yellow or gold. Remember to think "the Golden Rule".

This is the Season of Non-violence:

Your word for the day is Freedom
Civil rights activist Diane Nash said, “Freedom, by definition, is people realizing that they are their own leaders.” Take a leadership role today in your own life. Find one way you can be more expressive of who you truly are.

Hearts for Huntington's

As of yesterday we have raised $1,296.55 hearts. Today is the last day to turn in hearts and money.

Running Club is cancelled for today.

PTA 80's Flashback Dance:

The PTA wants Everybody to Have Fun Tonight, and maybe even Wang Chung tonight. That's right, tonight is the PTA Flashback Dance and it's going to be RAD! So pick up the phone and give Jenny a call, send up 99 Luftballoons, and Wake Me Up before you Go-Go. Wear your Sunglasses at Night, get ready to Bust a Move and don't be Too Shy because Video Killed the Radio Star. All I can say is Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto. We'll see you tonight. It's going to be Hot, Hot, Hot.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
