Good morning Rock Springs School.

Today is Friday, March 16th, 2012. We’re in for partly cloudy skies this morning with a high of 63 again today. The forecast calls for rain tonight and tomorrow, possible lingering through Monday.

This morning, we have not one, note two, not three, but a whole class of college bound roadrunners from ___________ to lead us with the pledge.

They are ...

  • students say their names
  • “Please stand...
  • Recite pledge

Announcements:

History

On this day in 1751, James Madison, drafter of the Constitution, recorder of the Constitutional Convention, author of the Federalist Papers and fourth president of the United States, is born on a plantation in Virginia.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today;

A mosquito has 47 teeth.

This is the Season of Nonviolence - The Word of the Day is Self-forgiveness
When you judge yourself, you tend to believe that who you are is what you have done or not done, what you have or don’t have. Knowing that who you are is greater than all these things, today, forgive yourself for forgetting the good that is in you.

I have few important playground related announcements;

First, we want to remind all of our roadrunners that the hand ball courts are for playing hand ball. Games requiring you to kick a ball against the wall is not allowed. You may only play hand ball on the hand ball courts and against the hand ball walls. Any game involving kicking a ball is to be played on the field. Kickball type games are just not safe for our hand ball area.

Our second reminder is actually a change in rules. Starting today, when the line-up bell rings, you are to go straight to your line and line-up. We are no longer going to freeze.

To summarize, only play hand ball on the hand ball courts, and when the recess bell rings, immediately and safely proceed to your line.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,

“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
