Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Friday, March 15, 2013. The forecast calls for sunny skies and high of around 79 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mrs. Riley's class to lead us with the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Mrs. McDowell's class for the pledge.

Today is...

Officially Absolutely Incredible Kid Day.
It is also the Ides of March, "Et tu, Brute?"

On this Day in History:

On March 14, 1820, as part of the Missouri Compromise between the North and the South, Maine is admitted into the Union as the 23rd state.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

Humans have lived on Earth for about 200,000 years; Dinosaurs walked the planet for roughly 160 million years.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Responsibility, our third Pillar of Character, represented by the color green. Remember to think Think being responsible for a garden.

This is the Season of Non-violence:

Your word for the day is Prayer
“Prayer from the heart can achieve what nothing else in the world can,” said Gandhi. Begin and end the day with a prayer for peace. Let peace begin with you.

Today we will be having our 2nd trimester awards assemblies in the MPR. Kindergarten and 1st grade will begin in a few moments, 2nd and 3rd will at 9:15, and 4th and 5th 10:30.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
