Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Friday, January 18, 2013. The forecast calls for sunny skies with a high of around 74 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mr. Hernandez and Mr. Plunkett's class to lead us with the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Mrs. Reynoso's class for the pledge.

January 18th is officially, "National Winnie the Pooh Day".

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1882, A.A. Milne, creator of Winnie-the-Pooh, is born.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

There are eight species of bears alive today that range in size from the large brown bears and polar bears, which can weigh as much as 2200 and 1500 pounds respectively, to the comparatively smaller giant pandas and sun bears, which weigh less than 300 pounds apiece.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Trustworthiness, the first Pillar of Character, represented by the color blue:
Being Trustworthy means being honest, truthful, sincere, reliable, loyal, and most importantly, having the courage to do the right thing.
According to Elvis Presley, American rock 'n' roll icon, "Truth is like the sun. You can shut it out for a time, but it ain't goin' away."
When you think of Trustworthiness, think of being "True Blue".

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
