Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is day 111 of school on this Friday, February 20, 2015. The forecast calls for cloudy skies today, with a high of about 72 degrees.

This morning I have a group of college bound Road-Runners from Mr. Plunkett's classes to lead us in the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Ms. Reynoso's class.

Today is...
Love Your Pet Day

On this Day in History:
On this day in 1792, President George Washington signs legislation renewing the United States Post Office as a cabinet department led by the postmaster general, guaranteeing inexpensive delivery of all newspapers, stipulating the right to privacy and granting Congress the ability to expand postal service to new areas of the nation.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:
The jaw is the strongest muscle in the human body in terms of exerting force.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:
We've come to the end of Pillars of Character Week at RSU!

Have you been a TRRFCC (terrific) student? Remember that TRRFCC students demonstrate Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship. RSU students uphold the Six Pillars of Character everyday.

According to Heraclitus, Greek philosopher, "A man's character is his fate."

MAP Testing
Testing today is Mrs. Zacharias and Mrs. Riley. Remember to take your time, read the questions carefully, and do your best.

The Library is closed this week.

Safety First!
  • Please remember to walk when traveling through campus.
  • Also remember to use quiet voices in all academic areas.
  • Remember to play safe on the playground and when the bell rings to line up, walk to your line safely. We do not want anyone running as you could get hurt.
  • When you arrive at school in the morning, remember to sit at the lunch tables. All students are to remain sitting at the lunch tables until the duty teacher says that you may get up.
  • At the end of the day, your teacher will walk you to your designated exit for parent pick-up. If your ride is not there, you need to wait, stay at the front of the school and wait patiently and quietly for your ride.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
