Good morning Rock Springs School!

Welcome to a B-E-A-utiful Friday, August 31, 2012. The forecast calls for sunny skies and a high of 88 degrees.

Pledge:

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from ______________ class to lead us with the pledge.

Announcements:

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1864, at the Civil War Battle of Jonesboro, Georgia, General William T. Sherman launches the attack that finally secures Atlanta, Georgia, for the Union, and seals the fate of Confederate General John Bell Hood's army, which is forced to evacuate the area.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

A day on the planet Mercury is twice as long as its year. Mercury rotates very slowly but revolves around the Sun in slightly less than 88 days.

Rock Springs School is a Character Counts School:

This week we looked at the meanings of the words Trustworthiness, Respect, and Responsibility. We will continue next week by looking at Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship.
As stated by Abraham Lincoln, 16th U.S. president, "Character is like a tree and reputation like its shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing."

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
