Good morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Friday, August 24, 2012. Today's weather calls for clouds this morning becoming sunny with a high of 84 degrees.

Pledge:

Announcements:

On this Day in History:

After centuries of dormancy, Mount Vesuvius erupts in southern Italy, devastating the prosperous Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum. The cities, buried under a thick layer of volcanic material and mud, were never rebuilt and largely forgotten in the course of history. In the 18th century, Pompeii and Herculaneum were rediscovered and excavated, providing an unprecedented archaeological record of the everyday life of an ancient civilization.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

An alligator may go through 2000 to 3000 teeth in a lifetime.

Rock Springs School is a Character Counts School:

This week we introduced the Six Pillars of Character; Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship. We can easily remember these words using the Mnemonic, TRRFCC - terrific. Next week we will explore the meaning of each word and the positive impact they can have on our lives.
